When resin is the right call
Resin cures a liquid photopolymer layer by layer with light, which produces detail FDM simply cannot reach. Layer heights go down to 0.025 mm, and the surface comes off the machine smooth enough that most parts need no sanding at all.
That makes it the correct choice for miniatures, jewellery masters, scale model detail parts, presentation pieces and anything where somebody will look closely at the surface.
What resin is not for
Resin is harder and more brittle than filament. It chips rather than bends, and standard resins yellow and weaken in sunlight. If your part will be handled daily, take load, live outdoors or need to flex, we will steer you to PETG and explain why. We would rather talk you out of the wrong material than take the order and watch the part fail.
Finishing
Parts come off the machine, get washed in IPA to remove uncured resin, then go under UV to cure fully. Supports are cut and the contact points cleaned by hand. If you want parts primed ready for painting, ask when you send the model and we will quote it as part of finishing.
